Overview
The Workshop External Sulfate Attack will take place at LNEC, in Lisbon, on 3 and 4 November 2016. This Workshop is a part of the activities of the Technical Committee of RILEM TC 251 SRT Sulfate Resistance Testing.
Resistance to external sulfate attack is a key challenge for structural durability, especially when high volumes of supplementary cementitious materials are used in concrete production. Furthermore, appropriate test methodologies and protocols for the analysis of sulfate resistance must be recommended.
The Workshop will give opportunity to exchange experiences and researches on concrete structures affected by sulfate attack. It will give a platform for discussion on test methods to evaluate the resistance of concrete exposed to external sulfate attack. Presentations of current trends and developments coupled with critical discussion and debate together with social interactions are the objectives of the Workshop.
